Who we are
Established in 2005 in Gauteng, Ulwando has grown into a national company that is the preferred supplier to our clients which include ESKOM, various municipalities, Metro Rail, Transnet Freight Rail, SANBI (South African National Biodiversity Institute), DWAF, SANSA (South African National Space Agency), ACSA (Airports Company South Africa), construction companies and various other role players.
We have established offices in Gauteng, Western Cape, Southern Cape, Eastern Cape and Kwazulu Natal.
Ulwando comprises three main divisions:
Our Professional Services Division includes environmental project planning and consulting, biodiversity management plans, rehabilitation plans, search and rescue operations, permit applications for removal of protected species, and botanical assessments. We also partner with specialists in the industry to provide a wide range of additional services including GIS, Ecological surveys, drone surveying, biofuel production management, dust management and many more. The purpose of this division is to give the client a wide range of specialist services under one umbrella.
Our Contracting Division provides services including specialized tree felling and pruning, bush clearing, wood chipping and biomass processing, veld grass cutting, landscape maintenance, specialized restoration of fynbos and other sensitive vegetation types.
Our Training Division provides SETA accredited tree identification training, Pest Control Operator training, Industrial Vegetation Management training, Environmental Restoration training, Risk Identification training.
Ulwando Bushclearing (Pty) Ltd is Black Empowerment Enterprises (BEE – 67.3%) as well as a Black Women Owned Organization (BWO – 51%).
